Meet Melanie

Hi, I'm Melanie.

I found yoga while looking for tools to help manage stress and anxiety. Like many people, I walked into my first classes feeling unsure of myself. I didn't know the poses, I wasn't particularly flexible, and I often wondered if I belonged there at all.

Over time, yoga became much more than movement. It helped me build strength, confidence, self-awareness, and a deeper sense of connection to myself. The positive impact it had on my physical, emotional, and mental well-being inspired me to share it with others.

After completing my 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training, I created Chunky Yoga with a simple belief: yoga is for Every Body.

Whether you're stepping onto a mat for the very first time, returning after time away, or simply looking for a welcoming place to move and breathe, you'll find a supportive, judgment-free space here. My goal is to help you feel comfortable, capable, and at home in your own body—exactly as you are.

When I'm not teaching, you'll find me enjoying life in the NEK with my husband, two boys, our dog Goose and cats George & Monty.
